EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT
‘Selections from The CAN Collection’
October 8 through February 4, 2023
The CAN Collection is an artist-built collection consisting of the multidisciplinary work of artists who have participated in CAN Foundation residencies, workshops, programs, and exhibitions. It represents the CAN’s investment in the artists we support and work with, the artists’ investment in themselves, and in one another.
The collection began in 2020 at the CAN Headquarters, in Newport News, Virginia and is shown in venues and institutions in an effort to bring awareness to the talent that passes through and grows out of the CAN’s creative network. A portion of the CAN Collection is currently on view at the Virginia MoCA.
The group exhibition, ‘Selections from the CAN Collection’, will feature work by Dathan Kane, Carl Medley, Nico Cathcart, Nadd Harvin, Amber Pierce, Adewale Alli, Hampton Boyer, Yusuf Lateef, Curtis Newkirk, Andrew Samuel Harrison, and Austin Miles.
