BLOW Up II Exhibit, 10 am- 4 pm

The BLOW UP II exhibit explores the imaginative ways that air and unusual materials can be used to create large-scale sculptures. Accessible, yet rich with meaning, the artworks use the perception of space to open a dialogue about pop culture and social norms. These inflatable figurative and abstract sculptures, conceived by nine artists and art collectives from around the world, are fun and whimsical, yet strange and challenge the definition of art. The line-up includes Nicole Banowetz, Sharon Engelstein, FriendsWithYou, Josh Harker, Susan Lee-Chun, Matt Ritchie, Lizbeth Rossof, Jen Stark, and Max Streicher. Organized by the Bedford Gallery, the pieces in this show serve as the first encounter with an inflatable medium for most of the featured artists.
