Art is revolutionary, it changes perspectives, and challenges our humanity.
In the spirit of positive change, The CAN Foundation has partnered with ODU’s Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience and artist Nico Cathcart for a climate symposium taking place February 4th, at Assembly, in conjunction with the art exhibition ‘Asymmetry’. The symposium will feature a unique blend of artists, leading Virginia climate scientists, and environmental resilience officers. Attendees will learn and engage in conversation about the effects and causes of local climate change, and what the Norfolk/Portsmouth areas are doing to change the future. The event will culminate in a round table discussion featuring artists, scientists, and resilience experts, moderated by CAN Foundation Director Asa Jackson, in a meeting of the minds surrounding the topics of the environment, and climate change.
